「Foppert's rehab way ahead of schedule」

Foppert's recovery is going so well that he said Friday he expects to begin an extended minor-league rehab assignment in two weeks and ideally rejoin the big club in September.

素晴らしいニュースだ。復調の度合いにもよるが、シーズン後半から急にメジャーに上がってポストシーズンで大活躍する選手が出ると、そのチームのポストシーズンには勢いが出る。2000年にメッツがワールドシリーズに行ったときのティモ・ペレス、去年ワールドシリーズを制したフロリダのミゲル・カブレラ。2004年のサンフランシスコのジェシー・フォパートもそうなってくれるといいな。

"I'm not spending much time in the trainer's room anymore and I can almost do everything that everybody else is doing,'' said Foppert, who will turn 24 next Saturday.

もうすぐ24歳。これからフォパートのキャリアは始まるのである。
